About Us
Kelly Lyons
Working in high-end residential design firms allowed me to accumulate a portfolio of projects in the Seattle area as well as nationally and internationally. One of the best things that came from those days was working and learning alongside my friend and colleague, Lauren Hockema. When it was time to venture out on my own, I knew that Lauren and I could offer so much more working as a team.
I began nurturing my love of art and design at the University of Washington, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. When I discovered my career passion, I went on to study interior design and obtain a second Bachelor’s degree from the Art Institute of Seattle. I‘ve also studied design in Europe – travel continues to shape my aesthetic.
Lauren Hockema
I honed my design skills working in high-end residential and commercial interior design firms in Seattle. That’s where I developed an appreciation for a broad range of design styles; learned the ins-and-outs of taking a concept to completion; and understood the value of really listening to clients. I also met my friend and colleague, Kelly Lyons. Launching K&L Interiors together allowed us to bring clients our unique blend of service, creativity, and vision.
Design has been part of my life from the very beginning. When I was 15, I worked alongside my Dad doing drafting on boat designs for his Seattle-based naval architecture firm. From there it was natural for me to follow my passion at Washington State University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.

We take care of every detail, from concept and construction drawings to selecting and ordering your furniture and décor.

An initial visit to your home allows us to learn what’s meaningful to you, share our expertise, and generate ideas. You’ll discover a whole new way to communicate – through images, textures, and materials. This process is what brings your vision to life.

Inspired design is just the beginning. We’re on the job from the first concept drawing to the placement of the last pillow and drawer pull – managing your project from start to finish. If something’s not quite right, we’ll make sure it’s taken care of, because we’re frequently on-site checking in.
We opened K&L Interiors to offer a client-focused process that makes the results all about you.
